Meet Dr. Best

Dr. Best is a specialist Plastic Surgeon, certified by the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada. He attended medical school at the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario Canada (now called Western University). He graduated cum laude in 1988, and went on to complete a comprehensive surgical internship at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto, Ontario. This was followed by training and research at the Institute of Medical Sciences at the University of Toronto, achieving a Master of Science degree in 1990. His work won him one of the highest awards in Plastic Surgery research, the Plastic Surgery Educational Foundation’s Junior Investigator Award. He went on from their to complete his training at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta, completing a five-year residency in Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Best went on to a position of Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery at the University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma City, U.S.A., before returning to Canada to establish his private practice in Plastic Surgery in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario Canada in 1998. He joined the newly minted Northern Ontario School of Medicine in 2005, and served as the school’s first Section Leader of Surgery. He continues to teach and do clinical research as an Associate Professor at the School of Medicine, and to work in his private practice, Best Aesthetic Surgery.
